For the past several weeks I have been working on projects for my Digital File Preparation class and posting the process on this blog. I believe that I have learned many important skills during this time.
I believe I am most shocked from the fact that I am walking away from this class with an incredible amount of knowledge about creating and keeping a blog. I feel that this blog has forced me to focus on my projects and apply purpose to each one and it has taught me the art of putting my work public.
Before taking this class I really did not know the rules to taking a project to the printer to get printed. I now feel as if I can create a project and properly package the file to be printed at a professional printing office. I also feel like I will be able to do more than only nod my head when asked about paper choices, Pantone colors and crop marks. I feel prepared to create projects outside of a classroom setting and get to a finished project on my own.
I love that I am now acquainted with a new software program in my life that helps me manage my fonts. Suitcase Fusion makes font management easy and I now do not have to worry about overloading my computer with fonts.
I have taken classes that have taught me how to create using the Adobe programs and I know that I can now produce whatever I can create onto paper and have learned how to find those people who can print my projects if my local print shop can't handle the load. I know how to print more that just one item now, I can mass produce...with a budget!
